CHURCH PROTOCOL & EXECUTIVE USHERING

Every church has its own set of protocol, rules and guidelines that establishes a system of how worship services are carried out in the church and in the worship of God. It is expected that these protocols are adhered to at every point in the church, irrespective of the service or event being conducted. This course will generally offer internationally acknowledged standards for church protocol and executive ushering with impactful knowledge to students for orderliness and top notch service without discrimination.

Therefore, it is important for members of the church, visitors and guest ministers to be properly briefed about these protocols and expectations. This will allow for smooth running of every service and event conducted by the church, without encountering unintended misunderstanding.

The role of church protocol officers and ushers cannot be overemphasized, because daily worship services and other events held in the church are almost flawed without them. Their knowledge in formalities, dignity, respect and reverence, plays a significant role in enhancing worship services and other events in the house of God.

By end of the course, the students will learn many aspects of church protocol including duties attached to the  responsibility which may include and not limited to the following:

• Routine protocol duties within and around the church premises during services and meetings.
• Manning the church entrance and church auditorium.
• Identifying visiting ministers, special guests, church visitors and ensuring they are attended to appropriately.
• Logistics and formalities during special programs.
• Creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere during church meetings.
• Welcome worshippers, usher them to their seats, show kindness and care to those in need of physical support
• Ensure orderliness during church meetings and distribution of church materials such as leaflets, program of meetings and handbills.
• Offering and tithe collection.
